If our station had a home, it would be a beach club at golden hour. Phuket has plenty of them, each with its own sound. Here’s where to go, depending on your mood.
Bang Tao
Catch Beach Club is where Phuket’s beach club scene began, and it’s still stylish and buzzing all day, with DJs in high season. Further along the beach, Xana Beach Club at Angsana Laguna is more relaxed, with a calm pool and reasonable prices.
Kamala
Café Del Mar Phuket brings the famous Ibiza name to Kamala Beach, with a photogenic pool, a young crowd and DJs every night. It’s the perfect place to hear the kind of Balearic sunset music we play all day; we even have Café del Mar, volumen ocho on rotation. Nearby, Pine Beach Bar at the InterContinental is upscale but relaxed, and open to everyone, with afternoon DJs.
Karon and Kata
At the south end of Karon, Tann Terrace is a wooden deck facing the bay with a Mediterranean menu and a laid-back sunset feel. For something completely different, Ska Bar on the rocks at the southern tip of Kata Beach is an old-school reggae bar with cheap drinks and no pool or DJ, just the sea and a great view.
A tip
Most beach clubs ask for a minimum spend on sunbeds and cabanas, especially at weekends and in high season, so check before you settle in. And if you can’t get to the beach today, press play: we’ll bring the beach club to you.
